OAKWOOD WHISKY

Bowmore 12 year old and No.1 Malt Whiskies.

The Bowmore Distillery was established in 1779 by David Simson, becoming Islay’s first licenced distillery. Bowmore Town is situated on the West Coast of Islay on the shores of Loch Indaal, and is the administrative capital of the island. RAF Short Sunderland and Consolidated BBY Catalina seaplanes operated from here during WW2. Holding Company Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd., Parent Company is:  Beam Suntory.

Bowmore whisky is peated, however, the 12 year old has notes tending towards oak smokiness in bottle with lighter sugars rather than vegetal peat and seaweed, tasting of lemon and  sweet heather honey. Bowmore No.1 Whisky’s name is derived from the distillery’s legendary No.1 vaults, the world’s oldest scotch maturation warehouses. No.1 was first released in 2017, is matured in first-fill Bourbon Cask and is a no-age statement release with PPM rating of 25. Tasting notes of vanilla sweetness, cinnamon spice with a finish of peat smoke, bourbon vanilla and lime.

Bottle size for both editions: 700ml. and ALC./VOL.: 40% VOL.
